Have you ever heard the saying that worrying is like praying for things you don’t want? What we focus on is what creates the outcomes in our lives. If we are constantly worrying about what could go wrong or waiting for the other shoe to drop our subconscious mind will actually look for evidence to prove our worries right.
Years ago I was in a really scary situation with an ex-boyfriend. I lived every day in fear. He was stalking me and the legal system was involved. I lost half the hair on my head due to the stress. I honestly thought I may not make it out of this situation alive.
I shared the details with my friend Jessica White @zenjessica and she asked me “what is the best possible outcome here?” so I told her and she said “picture that outcome happening every single day, put all of your energy into it” and I really didn’t know what else to do, so that’s exactly what I did.
Guess what? The best possible outcome happened. Exactly what I had pictured in my head happened. It took a few months but eventually he was completely out of my life and I was free. There is so much power in what we focus our energy and attention on.
If you are facing a situation that feels impossible and you can’t figure out how to shift it, I invite you to picture the best possible outcome. Ask yourself “if I had a magic wand and could create whatever I wanted to in this situation what would it look like?” and then put your energy into that vision every single day as many times as possible. It is particularly powerful to write it all down and read it and envision it before bed and as soon as you wake up.
Another piece of this, which I love, is to pray for “this or something better” because we need to leave space for things to unfold in miraculous ways that could be better than we had imagined. My clients and I use this prayer “this or something better now manifests for me in completely miraculous and harmonious ways for the highest good of all concerned” (from Shakti Gawain’s book Creative Visualization).
We are powerful creators, my friends. We can BE, DO, and HAVE whatever we can dream as long as we believe it. Clearing out subconscious beliefs is a very helpful part of this process because our conscious mind can agree with this concept but if we have some thoughts that are operating under our awareness they can slow down our manifestation.
